Gray Adds Rice Offer

When a player is 6-8 330 pounds it's hard not to get noticed.
Such was the case for Pearland's Ian Gray at a recent Rice Mini Camp.

Gray's size alone is intriguing, but his improving movement and footwork also make him a prospect with a high upside. Add to that Gray's bloodlines - his dad played at Notre Dame - and you get an Offensive lineman that could play in the NFL someday.
Those intangibles netted Gray an offer from the Owls on Friday.
Owl Sports Watch observed Gray at the camp and we see the potential of the Pearland junior. He has an enormous wingspan that creates a very wide rush lane for a pass rushing opponent, and his size alone makes a straight bullrush a very tall order for a DE.
Gray is being recruited by several teams and also has an offer from Baylor.
Rice is looking to add 3 Offensive linemen to the Class of 2010.
Ian has been unavailable for further comment but OSW has sveral calls into the big guy. We'll have more when we make contact with Gray again.
