Game Balls: FAU

Following each game Owls Insider will recognize the standout performers by handing out our game balls. Here are the game balls from Rice's 18-14 victory over FAU on Saturday night.
Chris Boswell: The senior placekicker found his groove again on Saturday night, nailing two field goals of 45 and 47 yards respectively. Boswell was also perfect on kickoffs with five kickoffs each of which resulted in touchbacks.

Darik Dillard: Dillard came up big for the Owls offense when they needed it most. The offense was still without standout running back Charles Ross and Dillard helped ease that late in the fourth when he took it in for a 20-yard score late in the fourth to give the Owls the 18-14 lead with just over three minutes to go. Dillard finished the night rushing for 62 yards on 11 carries.
Cody Bauer: Bauer made arguably the biggest play of the game outside of Dillard's go-ahead touchdown run when he scooped up Greg Hankerson's fumble and took it in for the scoop and score to bring the Owls within two. The Owls could have tied the game at that point, but failed on a 2-pt conversion. Bauer also finished with three tackles, a sack.
Bryce Callahan: While Callahan made his mark on the defense with seven tackles and a tackle-for-loss his biggest play came immediately following Bauer's fumble return when he had an interception and 22-yard return which set up Darik Dillard's 20-yard scoring run and what would ultimately be the Owl's game winning score.
Tanner Leland: Leland had a solid night on defense for the Owls finishing with six tackles, including two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery on a long punt return which helped keep points off the board for FAU.
